Update on Our Path Out of Poverty Initiative

Local Reach at The Point challenges us to look beyond ourselves to the people around us and share the love of Christ as we serve and connect with our community. Local Reach will channel its full energy behind the Path Out of Poverty initiative, weaving together practical support with gospel-centered programs to empower and uplift individuals and families from financial hardship. We are committed to changing the trajectory of poverty in the communities we serve through our Local Reach efforts, mainly through our entrepreneurial programs, mentorships, and being the center of support for those in poverty in the communities we serve.

Since October!

In the last few months, our Access Point, which serves those in need has served:

  • 1,560 teacher lunches served at local schools

  • 200 snack bags prepared for students

  • 145 teacher appreciation bags

  • 1350 toys donated to various community organizations

  • 125 homeless care bags distributed

Each of these items has been prayed over and makes a real difference to those that receive them.

Update on the Building Downtown

As we look ahead with anticipation, I am delighted to share an exciting milestone in our journey as a congregation. We are moving forward with the purchase of a building downtown, which marks a pivotal step in our mission to establish a presence in the heart of our city. Currently, we are in the process of scheduling meetings with architects, engineers, and contractors to craft a comprehensive renovation plan that aligns with our vision for the space. Our goal is to officially launch our new downtown campus in 2025. In the lead-up to the grand opening, we plan to host various events within the building, offering a glimpse of the community and fellowship that will soon flourish there.

Your willingness to serve is a testament to the heart of our church. Let’s continue to weave threads of hope and transformation into the fabric of our community, affirming our dedication to the Path Out Of Poverty.

In Christ’s Love,

David Banks
