Envisioning the Future: Our New Campus Design

Rooted In History

Founded in 1867, Mt. Zion's First African Baptist Church completed this building in 1889. Although the congregation has since moved to a new location, their enduring faith laid the foundation for a resilient and vibrant spiritual community. Looking ahead, The Point seeks to honor this rich history by fostering an inclusive and united community devoted to the same God who has sustained generations before them.

Adam Coleman

Downtown on ridge street Campus Pastor

Adam is a husband, father of five, local missions pastor, published author, and public speaker. He holds a Master’s in Social Work from Virginia Commonwealth University, specializing in mental health, community organization, and public advocacy. Over the years, Adam has built a diverse career that includes youth and family therapy, serving our nation’s veterans, and leading community initiatives. Currently, he serves as a Local Missions Pastor for The Point, where he combines his passion for public service with a heart for helping others pursue truth.

In his early adulthood, Adam experienced a crisis of faith that revealed the profound value of Christian apologetics in strengthening belief and deepening trust in God. This journey inspired him to share apologetics as a resource for other believers to fulfill Jesus’s command to love God with all their mind (Matthew 22:37).

As a Christian apologist, Adam is passionate about equipping believers with evidence for their faith and critical thinking tools to engage with today’s culture. Through his blog writings, social media presence, public speaking, and contributions to works like Urban Apologetics: Restoring Black Dignity With the Gospel, Adam seeks to educate Christians in understanding what they believe, why they believe it, and how to effectively communicate God’s truth to others.
