The Academy Mentorships
"Empower. Inspire. Transform."
“Being a mentor for The Academy is more than a role; it’s a calling to uplift, guide, and inspire. As an Academy mentor, you walk alongside aspiring entrepreneurs, helping them turn their dreams into realities that transform lives and uplift our community. Through your experience and encouragement, you’ll empower them to overcome obstacles and build businesses grounded in faith, resilience, and purpose. Join us in creating a legacy of empowerment and hope.”
Mentor Qualifications:
Experience in Business, Entrepreneurship, or Community Development: Whether through starting a business, managing a team, or guiding others in community initiatives, mentors with practical experience bring invaluable insights.
Passion for Empowerment: A heart for investing in under-resourced communities, lifting others up through practical and spiritual guidance.
Alignment with Gospel-Centered Values: Our program integrates faith-centered values like integrity, service, and community impact, and we seek mentors who can model these principles.
Commitment to Time and Relationship-Building: We’re looking for mentors ready to offer reliable, encouraging support.
Mentorship Requirements:
Meeting Schedule and Duration:
Mentors are asked to meet with their assigned entrepreneur at least once a month for about an hour each session, whether in person or online. This engagement is essential as the class moves toward graduation and their business launch.
Guidance and Expertise Sharing:
Mentors provide insights into business planning, financial literacy, marketing, and sustainable growth and life challenges. As possible, mentors can also connect entrepreneurs to resources and professional networks.
Encouragement and Accountability:
Mentors serve as both cheerleaders and accountability partners, keeping entrepreneurs motivated and focused on their goals while fostering resilience through challenges.
Confidentiality and Trust-Building:
Maintaining confidentiality is key to creating a safe, supportive mentorship environment. Mentors are expected to handle business plans and personal information with care and discretion.
Feedback and Support:
Mentors may occasionally provide feedback on the mentorship experience and will have access to ongoing support from The Academy’s Volunteer Lead team, ensuring a rewarding experience for mentors and mentees alike.
This role offers a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact as we prepare for the December graduation of The Academy’s first-ever class of empowered entrepreneurs. Thank you for considering this meaningful journey.
