Scripture Reading:
“I WILL BE WITH YOU.” (Judges 6:16)
Billy Graham stated: “This is Peace--to be able to sleep in the storm! In Christ, we are relaxed and at peace in the midst of confusions, bewilderments, and perplexities of this life. The storm rages, but our hearts are at rest.”
Scripture reminds us all of the story of Gideon and the anxiety he must have felt when God asked him to deliver the children of Israel. But the Lord spoke the words we all need to hear these words in Judges 6:16: "I will be with you!"
With all that's happening daily, being self-employed and having employees that have been with me as long as 30 years, it is easier to invite something like worry or fear into your mindset. Some of these employees have become like family. God taught me years ago how to recognize and understand worry and fear as being incompatible with answered prayer. The enemy is a master at deceiving us all in very seductive ways. I pray we all put on the full armor of God – first thing every morning and then throughout the day. By doing this, we can recognize quicker and will be prepared to rebuke the enemy's attempts to instill worry or fear.
We all see and hear of new things daily that can cause fear and worry, knowing they are perhaps as threatening and unsettling as anything we’ve ever seen. That's what I love about God's living and breathed Word. We can feed on it like manna from heaven!!
Jeremiah 29:11-12 is a scripture passage we all know well, and yet every time I read it, I smile! “For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me, and I will listen to you.” Thank You Father God!
Prayer:
Father God, help us to keep our eyes fixed on Jesus each day as we walk and talk with the King of Kings. Thank you for Your Word and for the reassurance of its truth – for today and every day. May the promise of Your presence bring us peace as the storm rages, for in You our hearts find rest.
