Day 17 - Wednesday, January 22nd

Daily Reading

Matthew 7:24-25: "Everyone then who hears these words of mine and does them will be like a wise man who built his house on the rock. And the rain fell, and the floods came, and the winds blew and beat on that house, but it did not fall, because it had been founded on the rock."

Question: Is my life built on the solid foundation of obeying God's Word?

Prayer Prompt

Father, help me to be like the wise builder, grounding my life on the foundation of obedience to Your Word.

As we continue our 21 Days of Prayer, take time each day to put on the full armor of God. Use the prompt below from Ephesians 6:10-18 to guide your prayer time.

“Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.”
Begin by acknowledging your dependence on God’s strength. Thank Him for equipping you to stand firm and ask Him to help you see yourself as He sees you: a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37).

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.”
Take time to prepare your heart and mind for spiritual battle. Ask God to help you recognize and resist the enemy’s tactics, including deception, distraction, and fear. Pray for vigilance and spiritual clarity.

“Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness.”

Belt of Truth: Ask God to align your life with His truth. Pray for clarity in areas where you feel confused or burdened and for integrity in your thoughts and actions.

Breastplate of Righteousness: Thank God for the righteousness you have in Christ. Ask Him to guard your heart from sin and help you walk in obedience and character.

“And, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the Gospel of peace.”
Pray for readiness to carry the Gospel of peace into your relationships and daily interactions. Ask God to help you bring His hope and truth wherever you go, both in word and action.

“In all circumstances take up the shield of faith, with which you can extinguish all the flaming darts of the evil one.”
Lift up your faith, trusting God to protect you from fear, doubt, and spiritual attack. Pray for a steadfast confidence in His promises and for strength to overcome challenges.

“And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God.”

Helmet of Salvation: Pray for a renewed mind focused on God’s saving work. Ask Him to guard your thoughts and help you see the world through His perspective.

Sword of the Spirit: Thank God for His Word and ask Him to help you wield it effectively in your life. Pray for wisdom and the ability to recall Scripture in moments of need.

“Praying at all times in the Spirit, with all prayer and supplication. To that end, keep alert with all perseverance, making supplication for all the saints.”
End your time in prayer by interceding for others. Pray for your family, church leaders, and community. Ask God to strengthen their faith and equip them for the spiritual battles they face.

As you lift up requests to God, please also pray for these requests regarding our vision as a church below. If you are joining us in person, please pray over 10-20 prayer requests on the prayer cards located on the front of the stage and return them in the basket at the exit.

Prayer Focus

Next-Gen Dream Teamers

Prayer Points:

  • Pray for our leaders in KidsPoint and StudentLife as they grow in their knowledge of God and walk daily with Him.

  • Pray that they would live out of the overflow of their relationship with Jesus and that God’s love will be evident in their conversations, teachings, and interactions with children and students.

  • Pray that leaders will live out the Intentional Life in their own lives while helping kids and students to take their next steps in their relationship with Jesus.

  • Pray that God will give opportunities and open doors to be involved in the community and at the schools.

  • Pray for an abundance of Dream Teamers in the classrooms who love Jesus and are passionate about Next-Gen ministry, and pray for our vision of having the same teachers in the classrooms every week.

  • Ask God how He could use you to serve and support the Next Generation in our church!

Communion

If you are joining us in person, please pick up the communion elements provided and take it to close out your prayer time.

Scripture: Read this passage before taking part in communion-

Matthew 26:26-28: Now as they were eating, Jesus took bread, and after blessing it broke it and gave it to the disciples, and said, “Take, eat; this is my body.” And he took a cup, and when he had given thanks he gave it to them, saying, “Drink of it, all of you, for this is my blood of the covenant, which is poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.

Prayer: Take a moment and ask God to examine your heart and reveal any sin that is hindering your relationship with Him. Confess that sin to the Lord. Then, as you read the passage, take a moment to praise and thank God for His body and His blood, and eat the bread and drink the cup.
