Executive Leadership Team
Growing up in Louisa, Virginia, Pastor Gabe accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at the age of 15. Following his graduation from James Madison University in 2002, he took part in his first church plant and it was during this time that he met his wife, Kari, where they led worship together for the first three years of their marriage. They also taught at Louisa County High School, where Gabe coached football, basketball and baseball and Kari coached cheerleading.
In the summer of 2007, Gabe and Kari moved to Lynchburg where they both became full time seminary students at Liberty. They both graduated from seminary in the spring of 2009 and on June 15, 2009, moved to Charlottesville to lead a church planting team in starting The Point. They were joined by a team of graduates and current students from Liberty University as well as residents from Charlottesville and the surrounding counties. Gabe and Kari have three daughters: Cana, Miriam, & Ella.
I’m Dave, the Executive Pastor at The Point. I oversee the staff and departments at The Point, and I also oversee our Worship ministry. I am a 2006 graduate of Mid-Atlantic Christian University.
I’ve been leading worship for half my life. I’ve been honored to lead people in near and far places. I’ve led worship at gatherings in Germany, Austria, and Belgium. I’ve led worship at conferences nationwide, from J2X in California, to Best Life in Minnesota, and the National Worship Leader Conference in Virginia. My heart is for the church and to walk with the church into the presence of God.
My beautiful family consists of my wife Amanda and my son Elijah. We love Charlottesville and are so grateful we get to call this place home. The Point is not just our church, it is our life.
I am so grateful to be a part of the Pastoral Team at The Point. My experience at churches in Roanoke, Dallas, Richmond, and Alexandria along with my education at Liberty University and Dallas Theological Seminary have brought me to Charlottesville to reach families for the sake of the gospel. Jesus, my wife Amanda, and my daughter Gabriella are my world and I also enjoy coffee, traveling, and all things quality.
My name is Zack, and I am the Creative Arts Pastor at The Point. I oversee all Creative Arts and Production teams and ministries.
I grew up in Michigan and attended college at Liberty University, where I met my beautiful wife, Joelle. I graduated with a bachelor’s in worship leadership, and have had the privilege to be at The Point almost since the beginning.
God has brought us on an amazing journey pouring out his favor every step of the way, and we are so thankful that this journey has lead us to The Point.
I grew up locally in Albemarle County. After graduating from Albemarle High School, I attended Radford University where I played four years of baseball for the Highlanders. After graduating from RU, I returned to Charlottesville. For the past 16 years, I’ve worked fulltime with State Farm Insurance where I currently serve in a systems role for the company.
I’m so proud of my family; truly blessed to be a husband to Kristin, dad to three children, as well as a local youth baseball and football coach. If I happen to have a moment’s spare time, you’ll find me in the woods pretending to be Davy Crocket.
Unmistakably, the Lord led Kristin and I to The Point in the summer of 2011 where we continue to grow in the Father’s love for us. I began to serve as Care Pastor in September of 2013.
In my role as Care Pastor, I have the honor to come alongside our folks during their spiritual highs and lows of life. To be a first-hand witness to Christ’s ministry through and to our church family is an absolute joy.
I’m Jenn, the Connections Director at The Point.
I grew up in Ruckersville, Virginia and went to Greene County Schools. After graduating high school, I was accepted into the University of Virginia where I received my Bachelor of Arts in Religious Studies with a concentration in Christianity. It was while I was in college that I found The Point. I had grown up in church and was so excited to find a church that I could call my home so quickly.
When I entered college, I had planned to be in the medical field. However, within one semester, God made it very clear to me that He had other plans for my life. After praying about where God was leading me, I applied for an internship at The Point to see what working in ministry was all about. Not long after I started, I had an incredible peace about what I was doing and where I was. I interned for two years, and I now find myself working for this amazing church plant that is thriving and reaching the community and the world for Jesus Christ. I am so blessed that God brought me to The Point and that this is the path He has set me on.
My name is Jessie and I am the Administrative Director.
I was born and raised in Fluvanna County. I have had a couple of different careers since I graduated but I always knew that God wanted me to do more.
I have been attending The Point with my husband, Josh, and daughter, Amelia, since 2013. The moment we walked into The Point we knew this would be our new church home. We quickly became involved with the Worship and Production Team, which led me to also volunteer in some office roles. I joined The Point staff in September of 2015.
The summer of after my sophomore year, the student pastor at my church extended an invitation to a group of college students, “I want to pour into you all, so in turn you can pour into my students.”
I didn’t realize when I accepted his invitation that would be a life changing summer for me. For the first time I experienced authentic community and was challenged to teach and disciple others. That summer I made the decision to transfer to Liberty University, where in addition to completing my undergrad, I worked in Student Leadership Department for 5 years.
I started attending The Point in 2011 when I moved to the area to work at a mission organization. Several months later I joined a community group and started volunteering. In 2014, I was able to join the Point staff. I love being a part of our church community and seeing firsthand how God is changing lives. In addition to serving at The Point I enjoy baking, sewing, teaching, and spending time outdoors.
I’m Josh, the Graphic Designer at The Point. I oversee all of the graphics at The Point, from Sunday series branding, handouts, social media, banners for all aspects of the church.

My husband Lee and I moved to Charlottesville from the DC area in the spring of 2011, as he retired from the government. We began attending The Point that summer and I started volunteering at the office. I don’t think there would be another position I would come out of retirement for. I am so thankful that the Lord can still use me in this season of life. I love what I do and look forward to all He has for The Point church.

While teaching is very fulfilling and keeps me very busy, I believe that God has called me to serve Him. I am honored to be a part of The Point and to serve alongside such incredible leaders.
I grew up in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and became a Christian at age 18 while a freshman at UT. I lived in Atlanta, Houston, Los Angeles, and New York City before settling in Charlottesville in early 2009. I met Pastor Gabe through a seemingly “random” phone call early in 2009, just as he and his wife Kari were making the decision to plant The Point. I have been with The Point since the beginning.
My name is Autumn and I am the Next Generation Intern at The Point. I moved to Charlottesville, Virginia in August 2016 for an event management position. Through volunteering with Student Life and Kids Point, God impressed on my heart a passion for the next generation as I found that reaching kids and students with the Gospel energizes me. I prayed through what full-time ministry looked like and felt God calling me to pursue my passion by interning at The Point.
I was born and raised in Charlottesville. The Point is the first church where I have truly felt at home. In 2015 I joined the Production Team where I learned the importance of community. I have made lifelong friendships and found a passion for creative outlet in production and creative arts but more importantly, in making sure that every person I come into contact experiences the love of Christ that has radically transformed my life.
